Vita

Nick Brombach studied both Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Business Informatics at the University of Siegen. During his studies, he first worked at the Research College of the University of Siegen and later at the “Digitalen Modellregion Gesundheit Dreiländereck”. There, in the Data Health project, he developed a solution for monitoring vital data to support health care in rural areas.

For this purpose, he investigated the participatory software development of mobile health information systems in cooperation with the different stakeholders of the health sector in his master’s thesis.

Since November 2022, Nick Brombach has been working as a research assistant at the University of Siegen in the Department of Cyber-Physical Systems. Here he is involved in the project ” ATLAS – Automotive Transformationsplattform Südwestfalen”.

Abstract Acquisition of medical data such as blood pressure, ECG, pulse, and other values is currently often carried out in doctor’s offices by physicians or medical staff. This requires valuable time of patients as well as of practices’ personel and can deliver specific data only of the time of the visit. In this paper we describe a different approach. Patients measure their biomedical vital data at home. Therefore a technical infrastructure together with a workflow were developed and applied within a current project with patients in a rural area. Vital data is transferred via smartphone apps to a cloud environment where doctors can easily access and assess the data.
