Project A/B/C or Final Thesis: Presentation Training in VR/AR with AI Support

Project Description
We (CPS) offer a practical project that utilises Artificial Intelligence (AI) as well as Virtual Reality (VR) or Augmented Reality (AR) to train giving presentations in front of an audience. This project will be implemented for a vocational school in Siegen. The resulting prototype is intended to support apprentices in preparing for their graded final presentation.

Minimum Scope of Work

  • Literature Review: A comprehensive literature review must be conducted to demonstrate engagement with existing scientific literature. This includes current developments and research findings in the fields of VR/AR technologies, AI applications in education, and specific methods of presentation training.
  • Prototype Design and Implementation: A prototype must be designed and implemented to meet the specific requirements of the apprentices. The prototype should provide a realistic and interactive training experience and effectively prepare the apprentices for their final presentation. VR and AR devices are available at the university for testing purposes.
  • Prototype Evaluation: The developed prototype must be evaluated with apprentices. Contact can be established through Diana Grüger. The aim of the evaluation is to determine if and how the application supports the apprentices in their presentation training. Qualitative, quantitative, and mixed methods are all possible.

Language of the Work
This work can be written in either German or English.
Groupwork is possible.

This project offers an opportunity to gain practical experience in the application of VR/AR technologies and AI in the educational context while contributing to the support of apprentices.
