Project A/B/C or Final Thesis: Text Editing in AR
Project Description
We (CPS) offer a practical project focused on 3D text editing in settings such as offices in Augmented Reality (AR). At the moment, text is edited in and on 2D media, such as computers or paper. Technologies such as AR offer the possibility to re-image editing text and utilise the 3D space surrounding us. This project implements a prototype which is intended to support everyone who is editing text.
Minimum Scope of Work
- Literature Review: Conduct a comprehensive literature review to demonstrate engagement with existing scientific literature. This includes current developments and research findings in the fields of AR technologies, practices in text editing, and app design for 3D space.
- Prototype Design and Implementation: Design and implement a prototype that meets the specific requirements of the target audience. The prototype should provide a realistic and interactive editing experience which utilises the 3D environments of the users. AR devices are available at the university for testing purposes.
- Evaluation of the Prototype: Evaluate the developed prototype with potential users. The aim of the evaluation is to determine if and how the application supports the users in editing texts in 3D. Qualitative, quantitative, and mixed methods are all possible.
Language of the Work
This work can be written in either German or English.
Group work is possible.
This project offers an opportunity to gain practical experience in the application of AR and to influence future design of office applications in 3D space. For further information, please contact: Diana Grüger – diana.grueger(at)uni-siegen.de
