Application for funding for digital qualification center in Wittgenstein

Together with a number of industrial companies as well as local authorities and multipliers, but also the Protestant church district, Prof. Dr. Thomas Ludwig is planning to establish a qualification center for digital topics in Wittgenstein. The “digital future workshop” is to provide an important foundation for the broad-based digitization of the Wittgenstein region.

Digital technologies for the secondary school Olpe

Since the beginning of the year the planning of the Bildungsconnector Olpe (bc:Olpe) has been ongoing. The aim of this project is to promote digitization in education. The focus here is on the development of competence among teachers and the professionalization of teacher training at the university. Our chair participates with 12 other teachers of the University of Siegen, eight schools in Olpe as well as partners from the district and city of Olpe in this project, which will be started with the school year 2021.

CPS with two contributions to NordiCHI 2020

This year our chair was represented with two contributions at the NordiCHI 2020. The biennial conference “Nordic Conference on Human-Computer Interaction” (short: NordiCHI) took place this week from October 25th to 29th. Florian Jasche and Philip Weber each had 20 minutes to present their long contributions.

3rd Consortium Meeting – One and a half years of “Rendezfood”

On September 11 this year, the third consortium meeting of the “Rendezfood” project took place under the consortium leadership of Jun.-Prof. Dr. Thomas Ludwig. We welcomed the representatives of the participating consortium partners, Vorländer GmbH and Netzfactor GmbH, as well as partners from the catering sector and the scientific contact person of the project management organization Jülich.

We are currently looking for a student assistant with programming skills who can support us in the Rendezfood project with the implementation of our App.

Addition to the research project Rendezfood

The Chair of Cyber-Physical Systems has welcomed a new research associate on June 15th. Kevin Krings supports the Rendezfood project in the key areas of app development, augmented reality, machine learning and natural language processing.
